Casa de Pilatos in the center of Seville is the largest private palace in Seville, one of the most emblematic buildings of Andalusian civil architecture of the sixteenth century and the prototype of the Andalusian palace. We discovered it when accompanying a friend who did restorative work.
It presents a combination of Italian Renaissance and Spanish Mudéjar styles, the result of different interventions, from the last third of the 15th century to the 17th century.
The origin of its name, Casa de Pilatos, comes from a Via Crucis that began to be celebrated in the city in the 1520s.
Around two courtyards we find rooms on various floors decorated with frescoes, marble, tiles, plasterwork and an endless number of crafts from different periods.
An enchanted place full of romanticism and art that invites us to enter its rooms and enjoy its gardens, hearing the singing of birds.
The palace can be visited daily between 09:00 and 18:00 (09:00 – 19.00 from April to October) and is also available for private events.
